There are MANY good ones. Here is a short list!

 

‘Tales That Tell Truth’ Series (Ages 3-6) 
Published by ‘The Good Book Company’, this series of picture books is still growing with 12 already published. Titles include ‘The Garden, The Curtain and The Cross’, ‘God’s Very Good Idea’, ‘Any Time, Any Place, Any Prayer’, and ‘The Friend who Forgives’. Different authors are involved with a consistent illustrator drawing the series together. They faithfully tell Bible stories or explore a theme or idea, linking them to the big picture of the Bible. Jesus is clearly portrayed. 

‘God Knows All About Me’ and ‘God Made Me This Way’ (Ages 0-3)  
Beautiful rhyming and repetitive stories that introduce young children to simple and important truths about God as the creator who made everything and knows us. These padded board books are durable for the youngest of explorers. 

 

‘The Biggest Story’ (Ages 4+) and ‘The Biggest Story ABC’ (Ages 1-4) 
‘The Biggest Story’ shows children how the many stories in the Bible are part of one big overall story of God’s plan to save his people. This chapter book with its powerful illustrations is a great way to dig deep into God’s saving plan. ‘The Biggest Story ABC’ is a simplified board book version for young children to be introduced early to the Bible as one story.

Sally Lloyd-Jones Book Series (Ages 1-4) 
This growing list of titles from Sally Lloyd-Jones currently includes ‘Loved’, ‘Near’ and ‘Found’. With beautiful illustrations and simple language, these books help young children explore specific passages in scripture and connect it to their life. Simple language and the flow of the story make it easy for children to commit truth to their mind. ‘Loved’ teaches the Lord’s Prayer. ‘Near’ is focused on Psalm 139. ‘Found’ is a retelling of Psalm 23. 

‘A Child Should Know’ Series (Ages 4-7) 
Currently available- ‘Everything a Child Should know about God’, ‘Everyone a Child should know’, ‘Everything a child should know about prayer’ and ‘Bible Stories every child should know’. These books are great for introducing children to key doctrines, people and Bible stories. Written to be able to read one story or teaching at a time, allowing them to be easily read over time. With reflection questions and Bible references they are easy to use for family devotions, before bed or around the table over a meal. More titles still to come. 

 

‘Little Me, Big God’ Series (Ages 1-4) 
Written by Steph Williams, this growing series of books are written with simple language and engaging illustrations. They are faithful to the story and short and engaging for young children. Titles include, but are not limited to, ‘The Easter Fix’, ‘Never Too Little’, ‘The Little Man Whose Heart Grew Big’, ‘The Boy Who Shared His Sandwich’ and ‘The Dad Who Never Gave Up’

‘Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing’ (Ages 6-10) 
From Sally Lloyd-Jones, author of the ‘Jesus Storybook Bible’, this book is a series of thoughts and reflections on faith and key verses in the Bible. It conveys truth in conversational tones connecting the Bible, history and every day experiences. Great for family devotions, bedtime or to help children learn to express truths. 

 

‘Big Theology for Little Hearts’ (Ages 1-4) 
These board books introduce big ideas from the Bible with clear definitions and beautiful illustrations. The aim is to help children as young as possible engage with foundational understanding of God, his word and his saving plan. The three books are designed to build on each other.  

 

‘Very Big’ Series (Ages 2-4) 
This growing series of books by Tim Thornborough teach Bible stories. They seek to engage children in the story through their participation through actions, expressing emotions and more. They teach the story accurately and show what we can learn today about following God. Stories include, but are not limited to, Easter, Christmas, Creation, Esther, Deborah, David & Goliath, Noah and Daniel. 

Kids Read Truth (Ages 3-9) 
Kids Read Truth are a part of ‘He Reads Truth’ and ‘She Reads Truth’; a community committed to reading the word of God daily. They have 2 styles of kids books. A new series with one book at present: ‘Repeat Them to Your Children’ series. This series pairs straight scripture with beautiful, fun illustrations so that children can engage with the very words of God from a young age. The first book is called ‘The Chorus of Creation: Psalm 148’. 
Their other series is ‘Scripture & Stories’ and includes ‘This is the Gospel’ and ‘This is the Christmas Story’. These books retell Biblical narrative using story text paired with verses of scripture.
