Kids Activities on Sunday

Kid’s church is KAOS by name and nature. Kids Activities On Sunday is made up of a crèche, pre-school group, Years K-2 and Years 3-5. We run KAOS during our 10am service. We also have a TOAST group which meet during both services for Year 6 through to Year 9. Learn more here!

Holiday Kids Club

St John’s Kids Club is a major community event! It happens in the first week of July school holidays and attracts about 150 kids over the week. Its centrepiece is a fun and gospel-teaching drama, and its outer fringes are found in pieces of craft and crazy games.

YOUTH.

Friday Roast Youth Group

Friday Nights from 7-9pm for games, a bible talk and small group discussion over God's word. We invite any year 7-12 youth to come along! Year 6 kids are invited along in terms 3 and 4 each year.

Sunday Toast Gatherings

We run great weekly gatherings, with food, games & God's Word each Sunday morning during school term at the 10am service. A group of years 6-9 youth who read the bible together, eat delicious food and learn how to live for Jesus. We encourage our year 10-12 youth to join us at our morning or evening services with the wider church family!

Youth Camps

We hold 2 camps in the year.
‘KYCK’ Camp (April) - us and about 2000 other teenagers in a big shed at Katoomba. Teaching, music, games… awesomeness. Roast Camp (Aug) is a “Welcome to Roast” Weekend Camp in Port Hacking where we welcome year 6 to youth with more teaching, music and fun times!

ADULTS.

Growth Groups

All evidence points to small groups as a key factor in Christian growth! This makes great sense. We are being encouraged by almost everything, all week, to not be very Christian at all. Growth groups are where other get around us, open the bible, pray and say ‘keep going! We’re with you!’.

Seniors Friendship Group

The older members of our church are active in fellowship, running a fortnightly friendship group on Mondays 1-4pm in the hall, and occasional bus trips. They also meet fortnightly on Wednesdays in a prayer and discussion group at a local aged care village – St Brigid’s Green.

Women’s Ministry

We run regular and diverse gatherings for women to increase connection and conversations. A safe and welcoming experience for women at church and their family/friends, of all ages, of all backgrounds. Keep an eye out for our upcoming women’s gatherings on our events page. Stay up to date via our Events page.

Christian Surfers Maroubra

We have an active hub of Christian Surfers – some are advanced surfers reaching out with Jesus to some very regular local surfers, others who are very good at getting beginners onto boards, standing up and thinking about Jesus. If you surf and are interested in sharing both Jesus and the waves with others, we are keen to meet you.

COAH.jpg

Choir on a Hill

Choir is open to anyone wanting to sing God’s praises and join a Christian singing group - you don't have to be a Christian to join but just be okay with singing songs that speak about God and Jesus. All welcome! Meeting regularly on Thursday nights, 7.30pm-9.30, from Sept at the church hall. Please email Sandy at choironahill@gmail.com or SMS 0438 587962 for any enquiries.
