What is Newsong Music Playgroup?
Newsong is a space for parents and carers with little ones (aged 0-5) to bond and foster connections through music, movement and play.

Why Music?
Children respond to music, from the tiniest of babies. Music is a wonderful tool for learning language, motor skills, enhancing social and emotional development, all whilst engaging and bonding with one another. The transition to parenthood can present huge challenges, and for some can be quite isolating. Playgroup is an opportunity to meet others in the same phase of life, and share these joys and challenges, laughter and tears together.

About Playgroup
Newsong is a group for our local community, run by volunteers and leaders from St Johns Anglican Church. We include a variety of music each week, across different genres. Some songs include biblical values, but everyone is welcome to join (you don’t need to share the Christian faith).

The program is written by Linda, a qualified Music Teacher and mother of four. Chris is a professional dancer and loves to bring movement alive for kids. All our leaders have appropriate training and a valid Working with Children Check.

What to expect
We meet from 10am, with a flexible arrival time - during free play at the start. Then the music session runs from 10:30-11am with songs, dance, puppets, instruments, bubbles and parachute. After this we enjoy morning tea together (provided for adults, please BYO for your little ones) and more free play.

Cost
First session is free, then $5 per family / week (pay as you go). Or register for the whole term at just $30 per family. You can sign up online or at the door, with card or cash.

Newsong is lots of fun, and a chance to unwind, for both the children and adults! Come along to build friendships, learn through music and play, and be encouraged by time together.
